Foundation

Sal Martino

Sal Martino, Ed.D., R.T.(R), CAE
Sal joined the ASRT Education and Research Foundation in 1999 and serves as the chief executive officer of both the ASRT and the Foundation. Sal came to the ASRT after a 20-year career in academia at the City University of New York. He received his doctorate from Columbia University in New York and was awarded recognition as a certified association executive in 2005.

Liana Watson

Liana Watson, D.M., R.T.(R)(M)(S)(BS), RDMS, RVT, FASRT
Liana serves as the chief governance and development officer for ASRT and the ASRT Foundation. Before accepting her position with the ASRT in 2009, she served as the director of quality at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Neb. Liana began her radiologic technology career in 1987 as a sonographer and mammographer and earned her master's degree in business administration from Baker College in Flint, Mich. She later earned a doctoral degree in management and organizational leadership from the University of Phoenix.

Phelosha Collaros

Phelosha Collaros, M.B.A., M.P.A., CQIA
Phelosha serves as the Foundation’s director. She joined the ASRT in 2000 after graduating from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, N.M., and has dual master’s degrees in business and public administration with a concentration in nonprofit management from Walden University. Phelosha is a certified quality improvement associate and a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Ladder-to-Leadership Fellow.

Debbie Freeman

Debbie Freeman, B.A.
Debbie serves as the community and program manager for the Foundation. She joined the ASRT in 2006 and served as the editor of Radiologic Technology and managing web editor of the ASRT website before accepting her current position with the Foundation. Debbie completed her bachelor's degree in professional writing from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M., and currently is pursuing a master's degree in media psychology and social change from Fielding Graduate University.

Brooke Palmer

Brooke Palmer, M.A.T.
Brooke joined the Foundation as an administrative assistant in 2010. She has more than 15 years of experience in an administrative capacity within the academic and nonprofit sectors, including working for the John F. Kennedy School of Government and the Center for the Study of World Religions at Harvard University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in geology from Smith College, and a master of arts in teaching English to speakers of other languages from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vt.

Marisa Taylor

Marisa Taylor
Marisa joined the Foundation in 2011 as the development coordinator. Before accepting her current position, she served as the director of development for Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School and for the World Adult Kickball Association. Marisa currently is completing her bachelor's degree in information technology at Western Governor's University. She was awarded an International Conference Scholarship from the Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2009.

Corporate Relations

Janet S. McEwen

Janet S. McEwen, M.A., CAE
Janet serves as the director of corporate relations and business development for both the ASRT and the Foundation. She has been in association management for more than 20 years, spending the last 15 as the director of grants and corporate relations for the American College of Emergency Physicians. Janet has her master’s degree in communication studies with an emphasis on corporate and interpersonal communication from the University of North Texas.

Sally Frye

Sally Frye, B.A.
Sally serves as the corporate relations associate for both the ASRT and Foundation. She was employed by the Foundation in 2005, following a 14-year career at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, where she served as executive assistant to the president from 1996-2004. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Antioch University, McGregor in human services administration with a concentration in humanities.

Finance

Mark Hoover

Mark Hoover, B.A., CPA
Mark serves as the chief financial officer for both the ASRT and the Foundation. Mark earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Eastern Michigan University and attended graduate studies programs in accounting at Arizona State University and San Francisco State University. Prior to joining the ASRT, he served as a consultant for nonprofit organizations in Phoenix, Ariz., and has volunteered extensively for the Arizona Society of CPAs.
