Annual Drawing FAQs
How are the proceeds from my ticket purchase used?
This year the Foundation will provide more than $200,000 in scholarships and grants to professionals and students who need a helping hand to achieve their educational and professional goals. Because ASRT membership dues do not directly fund these programs, the Foundation must raise support through fundraising activities such as the Annual Drawing.
Is my ticket purchase tax deductible?
Although most contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible, the purchase of Annual Drawing tickets is not tax deductible per IRS regulations because the prizes are of significant value.
When is the last day to purchase tickets?
Tickets will be available for purchase from May 14 to Aug. 12, 2012. Ticket sales will close at midnight Mountain time on Aug. 12. Any tickets purchased after this time will not be entered into the drawing, and the ticket amount will be refunded.
When will the winners be announced?
Winning ticket numbers will be posted online by Sept. 7, 2012. The names of the winners will be posted once all winning tickets have been verified and confirmed.
How are the winners chosen?
Winning ticket numbers will be randomly drawn at the ASRT Foundation office on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012. Winners will be notified by phone or mail immediately after the drawing.
How do I claim my prize?
Winning ticket holders will be contacted by the ASRT Foundation. If you are the purchaser of a winning ticket, you will be required to complete and return release and acknowledgement forms within 30 days.
If I win the grand prize, how do I make my travel arrangements?
Arrangements will need to be made through the ASRT Foundation. Travel must be booked at least 90 days prior to the departure date and completed between January 1 and July 31, 2013.
What are my chances of winning?
Chances of winning are based upon the total number of tickets sold. Ticket sales are limited to ASRT members. Last time only 955 members participated, which means great odds for you!
