CT Technologists Needed in the Solomon Islands
The Solomon Islands Living Memorial Project (SILMP) is a non-profit program that supports health care in the Solomon Islands through regular medical and surgical care outreach visits provided by American health care specialists. Most importantly, SILMP provides teaching and surgical education support so the medical personnel of the Solomon Islands can improve the delivery of care to their own people. SILMP is currently facilitating the donation of a CT scanner to the Department of Radiology at the National Referral Hospital in the city of Guadalcanal. The new CT scanner will be the only CT scanner in the country of almost 550,000 citizens. Radiologists and CT technologists are needed to help train the one main radiologist and the two radiologic technologists at NRH.
