Professional Research Grant Program
We are committed to supporting the research and analysis of issues that affect the radiologic sciences. The professional research grant program assists radiologic technologists and radiation therapists with an award of up to $10,000 to conduct a research project in affiliation with an academic or clinical institution.
Important DatesProposals are considered twice yearly. To have your proposal reviewed, submit a completed application by March 1 for the spring round and August 1 for the fall round. Applicants are notified of funding decisions by June 1 for the spring round or December 1 for the fall round. Note: It is strongly recommended that you submit a letter of intent no later than one month prior to the proposal deadline.
Eligibility RequirementsApplications must be submitted by an ASRT member who is also registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (or equivalent) or an ASRT member who holds an unrestricted state license.
Proposed research projects must be for a period not to exceed two years. Acceptable areas of research include radiation therapy, dosimetry, medical imaging, and radiologic science education and administration. View our Research Agenda for a list of suggested research issues.
Previous grant recipients are eligible to apply. ASRT Foundation Board of Trustees, staff and their immediate family members are ineligible.
Grantee RequirementsIf your research proposal is awarded a grant, a grant award package will be sent to you via e-mail. The award package contains important information regarding your award disbursement. You also will receive grant agreement and release forms to be signed and returned to the Foundation.
All grant recipients must agree to:
- Allow the ASRT and ASRT Foundation to make information about the project proposal (including name of researchers and affiliated institutions) publicly available.
- Submit a progress report
- Complete the final report form
- Submit the final manuscript to the Radiologic Technology or Radiation Therapist journal
